NEW CITY, N.Y. -- Serving Thanksgiving dinners and putting on an Italian feast are just some of the ways New City chiropractor Michael Cocilovo stays involved in the community.

It is a hallmark New City Chiropractor Center, the practice he founded 30 years ago.

A celebration Oct. 7 welcomed 100 guests, patients, friends and officials among them.

The center under Cocilovo's leadership helps with the Rockland Road Runners annual Turkey Trot Race and coordinates the Italian feast for Blauvelt Sons of Italy, considered Rockland County's biggest event.

In addition, Cocilovo is a board member of Home Aides of Rockland who helps organize fundraisers.

A few years ago, New City Chiropractic Center participated in two local Spartan Races with several patients raising more than $9,000 for the MS Society and more than $3,000 for Wounded Warriors.

This year, the office coordinated a Keep Rockland Beautiful team with patients to do a cleanup in Nanuet so that together they could enjoy the spring day and give back to the community.

And this year will mark the 30th Toys for Tots drive the center runs. It is estimated 4,000 toys have been donated to needy kids.

Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann remarked how Cocilovo "exemplifies family, faith and community and is someone who understands the importance of giving back.”

New City Chiropractic Center provides chiropractic care to individuals from ages five days old to over 90.
