The new "smart meters" record and transmit the building's energy consumption regularly throughout the day via a secure wireless network to the company, and give residents online access to detailed information about their energy use so they can make informed choices about how and when they use energy in their home or business.
O&R is currently in the process of notifying customers of when their smart meter will be installed. In October, they plan to be working in the New City area. The company said O&R contractors will be wearing contractor badges and bright yellow vests and helmets with the company log.
