Bob Stevenson opened the shop, now on Central Avenue, in 1968, along with his partners, Ross Koenig and his wife, Patricia. The Koenigs are no longer involved in the business, the report said, although Patricia Koenig still owns the building. Bob Stevenson has been handling store operations with assistance from Bonnie Stevenson.

"Awesome shop,'' one shop reviewer wrote on Yelp! in 2014. "Put an 18" gash down one ski all the way to the core and they repaired it like new. Filled, flattened, beveled the base and side edges to manufacturers spec and hot waxed the skis. Best tune ever!! Got lucky and Leo did it same day."

The shop, which is located at the site of a former church, plans to close by Labor Day. Click here for the LoHud.com story.
