Italian Feast, Food, Talent Take Stage In Tappan

TAPPAN, N.Y. -- An annual Italian festival with dozens of musical performers, dancing, food, celebrities and entertainment will take over the Masonic Park Fairgrounds in Tappan for four days.

The seventh annual Blauvelt Sons of Italy Italian Feast and Carnival runs Thursday, Sept. 15, to Sunday, Sept. 18.

It draws thousands from around the tristate area annually. This year's marks the 50th anniversary of the Rockland Lodge 2176 Sons of Italy.

The festival will showcase area talent. Actor and director Paul Borghese, a lodge member, will be master of ceremonies for the live entertainment.

Borghese has often appeared in HBO productions such as "Show Me a Hero," "The Sopranos," in the role of Yogi Berra in "61" and will appear in the new HBO series "The Deuce." He has also appeared in many feature films, including Robert DeNiro's "The Family," "Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn" and "Back in the Day," which was recently released.

The festival also features a variety of vendor and gift booths, Italian food, carnival rides and games for all ages, and games of chance for adults.

Admission is $5 for adults and free for children younger than 12.

  • Steve Maglio (Sinatra tribute singer).
  • Freddie Lando (Andrea Bocelli tribute singer).
  • Anthony Tolve (singer, Italian songs).

  • Louis Vanaria (film and TV).
  • Singer Al Sapienza (film and TV).
  • Singer Deborah Rennard (TV, Broadway).
  • Singer Cool Change (doo-wop band).
  • The Kick Start Charlie Band.
  • The Dead Mile Dance Band.
  • The Phil Caggiano Band.
  • The Jenna Esposito Band.
