Lewisboro Land Trust Hosts Birding Paddle at Saugatuck River

LEWISBORO, N.Y. -- The Lewisboro Land Trust will host the Long Island Sound Birding Paddle on Saturday at Saugatuck River in Connecticut.

This is an easy, beautiful paddle where participants can view American oystercatchers, ospreys, snowy egrets, terrapins, yellow-crowns and great-blue, night and white herons.

Participants will paddle down the Saugatuck River to saltwater marsh, Bermuda Lagoon with Michele Sorensen, kayak instructor and Audubon naturalist.

This is an easy, beautiful paddle where participants can view American Oystercatchers, Ospreys, Snowy Egrets, Terrapins, Yellow-Crowns and Great-Blue, Night and White Herons, according to a release from the Lewisboro Land Trust.

Participants will meet at Saugatuck River state boat ramp in Westport, Conn.

Those who don't have their own kayaks can rent them at Longshore Sailing School (203-226-4646 - reserve early).

The guided paddle is free, but registration is required. Contact Bronalea@aol.com to register. Spaces are limited.
