ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Five resident couples within the Esplanade at Palisades community walked down the aisle one more time this summer, renewing their wedding vows and celebrating a combined 362 years of matrimony.
Esplanade staff prepared a day filled with joy and nervous anticipation as the couples once again professed their love and admiration for one another, just as they each had done decades before. The banquet room, one of Esplanade's many on-site amenities, was filled with couples’ family and friends who stood witness to the residents’ faithfulness.
Before the reception began, the brides fixed their makeup and the grooms put on their best suits as they anxiously prepared to relive their big day. Following a flower girl’s lead, the five couples made their way down the aisle to renew their wedding vows in front of their loved ones. After the ceremony, the "newlyweds" spent the day with generations of their families, reflecting on their years of marriage.
Throughout the day, Esplanade at Palisades encouraged guests to enjoy community benefits including the banquet room, library, beauty parlor, wellness center, gift shop and on-site café. Through events similar to the wedding reception, residents at Esplanade are able to experience a vibrant, social, healthy lifestyle, designed to help seniors enjoy the next chapter of their lives.
