The event’s message “Do it for You, Do it Today,” set the tone for being proactive about healthcare. Guests enjoyed a health fair, entertainment and a fashion show featuring breast cancer survivors. The added draw was a visit from one of music television's most notable stars.
Karen “Duff” Duffy, who served as a "video jockey" -- or VJ -- for MTV in the early 1990s was the day's special guest. An accomplished model, author and actress, Duff also signed copies of her new book, Backbone, which chronicles her experience with chronic pain and offers a funny and inspirational manual for surviving discomfort. All proceeds from the books sold were donated directly to the Breast Center at Nyack Hospital.
