NYACK, N.Y. -- During cancer diagnosis and treatment, effective communication and planning is key. However, mapping a plan of action can be difficult when patients speak a different language than doctors and staff. Thanks to Dr. Sung Ho Lee, a board-certified physician in medical oncology and hematology at Highland Medical P.C. and Nyack Hospital, both native and foreign speakers are receiving the comprehensive care they deserve, in a familiar tongue.

South Korean by birth, Lee moved to the United States after receiving his medical doctorate from Kyunghee University Medical Center in Seoul. Here, he completed his residency in internal medicine and postdoctoral training in hematology and medical oncology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.

Prior to joining Highland Medical P.C., Lee worked at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York, where he served as the medical director of The Infusion Center.

Today, Lee practices at Highland Medical P.C. and Hematology Oncology Associates of Rockland at Nyack Hospital. He also serves as director of Clinical Research at the hospital, bringing cutting-edge oncology therapies to the community. Lee is also assistant professor of medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, N.Y.

Fluent in Korean, Lee has become an oncological resource for the growing Korean community in the Greater New York Area.

To refer a patient or schedule an appointment, call Hematology Oncology Associates of Rockland at 845-480-7440.
