HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Union Restaurant and Bar Latino is getting ready to "Rise."
The Haverstraw restaurant will be closed on Friday as the upcoming NBC Drama "Rise" takes over to film an episode. The drama, which stars Josh Radnor as a music teacher, has been filming scenes all over town.
Paulo Feteira, one of the owners, said he received a call two weeks ago from location scouts. He said he is excited to see Haverstraw turn into Hollywood Rockland.
"It's very nice," Feteira said. "It gives some recognition to the village. It's a win-win at the end of the day."
Union is known for its Latino flare, with dishes coming from the mind of chef David Martinez. It has been operating in Haverstraw for 10 years and has previously played host to an MTV show and a low budget movie.
While Union is closed, diners can still get their fix at Feteira's pop-up restaurant, UNoodles, located down the street. The restaurant will be back open Saturday.
