Broadway Star Teaches Next Generation Of Brewster Dancers

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- A Broadway dancer recently showed off his skills to dancers in Brewster.

The two-day class encouraged the dancers to be their "best selves" and work hard, said Seven Star School Team Co-director Jaclyn Yarusso.

Scott Fowler has performed in six Broadway shows including "Girl With the Red Shoes" with Seven Star School's ballet director Anita Intrieri, "Jerome Robbins Broadway," "Swing" and Twyla Tharp's "Moving Out," and has been in many feature films including "Rock of Ages," "Gangster Squad" and "Chicago."

In addition, Fowler has performed with the New York City Ballet, Cher and has appeared in over 30 national commercials.

He brought all of his expertise to Brewster and inspired the next generation of dancers to perform, said Yarusso.

"Having Scott Fowler at Seven Star School for two days was such a treat for our students," said Yarusso. "He has worked in all facets of the industry, from Broadway to commercial, so he knows what it takes. He encouraged our dancers to be them best selves and to work hard to achieve their goals. His positive energy is contagious and our students loved working with him."
