Robinson, who has been a DARE officer for 18 years, held his last DARE graduation at Woodglen Elementary School.
During those 18 years, he has taught the DARE curriculum to an estimated 12,000 community children who learned about the consequences of substance abuse, self-respect and self-determination and how to make good choices and develop positive social skills.
Robinson is quoted as saying he knew it was time to retire when his past DARE students are now the parents and teachers of his current students.
The department said they honor Robinson's service to community and for being such a positive influence in the lives of children.
