NEW CITY, N.Y. -- In an attempt to ease the tax burden on town residents, Clarkstown will hire a consultant to find ways to cut costs within the Police Department, according to lohud.com.
Supervisor George Hoehmann made the announcement Tuesday, noting that the consultant would look at all aspects of the Police Department's payroll, including staffing, workload and overtime, according to lohud.com
The town issued a request for proposals Tuesday that is open to all those hoping to provide the town with consulting services. The proposals are due on Wednesday, Feb. 24, with the consultant scheduled to start on March 10, according to lohud.com.
