Hillary Clinton Casts Presidential Primary Vote At Area Polling Place

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. -- Scores of local supporters and a scrum of press gathered at Chappaqua's Douglas G. Grafflin Elementary School on Tuesday morning for Hillary Clinton to cast her vote in New York's Democratic presidential primary.

The former secretary of state was joined by her husband, former President Bill Clinton. The pair, who have called Chappaqua home since 1999, talked with election workers and local school officials as they made their stop in a gym.

Among the school community members who met with the Democratic frontrunner were Chappaqua Schools Superintendent Lyn McKay and Grafflin Principal Jamie Edelman.

Once the Clintons cast their ballots, they walked outside to greet a crowd of cheering supporters, who were made of up residents from Chappaqua and across the Hudson Valley. Hillary Clinton's ad-hoc meetup included autographing and photo posing before she departed.

While standing by the crowd and a sizable press scrum, Clinton discussed campaigning in New York, which included meeting old friends and seeing new people. Clinton also urged people to vote before polls close.

Clinton is battling Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nominations. Polls show Clinton, who represented New York in the senate for eight years, with a double-digit lead in the primary. 

Meanwhile, Republicans are hold their New York presidential primary as well. Polls show frontrunner and native New Yorker Donald Trump with a landslide lead over his opponents, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Trump, who owns Trump Tower in Manhattan as well as an estate in Bedford, also owns Trump National Golf Club Hudson Valley in Stormville and Trump National Westchester in Briarcliff Manor. The Trump name also adorns Trump Tower At City Center in White Plains, Trump Plaza in New Rochelle, Trump Park Residences in Yorktown and the Donald J. Trump State Park on the Westchester/Putnam border.
