ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - There’s no business like show business for the Clarkstown Police Department, who were recently featured on a national news segment about opioid addiction in the Hudson Valley.

NBC News reporter Sarah Wallace visited the department last week to film the segment, which highlights how the opioid addiction affects communities and how police are attempting to battle the epidemic.

The segment showed the preventative measures officers take when conducting traffic stops and drug searches to prevent incidental ingestion of harmful chemicals or drugs.

“We were pleased to allow her and her crew into our department to see how we are trying to tackle the problem,” police officials posted on Facebook. The complete NBC News segment can be seen here.
