NEW HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Students and community volunteers for a New Hempstead-based organization have been putting together packages of Passover food to be sent to troops serving overseas, according to lohud.com.
KosherTroops, a nonprofit group created by Sara Fuerst and Ava Hamburger of New Hempstead, has been sending traditional holiday and Sabbath foods to Jewish military personnel for nearly a decade, according to lohud.com.
Fuerst told lohud.com that she appreciated all that the troops have done for the people back home. She said she wanted to let them know that they've not been forgotten, according to lohud.com.
Passover starts after sundown Friday, April 22, and runs through Sunday, April 30, according to lohud.com.
