North Castle Supervisor Offers Storm Preparedness Tips

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- With the impending threat of Hurricane Joanquin hitting our area, Michael J. Schiliro, town supervisor of North Castle, would like to remind residents of these important safety tips to help you prepare for storm emergencies:

  • If you are on well water, please reserve a supply of water by filling your bath tubs or other containers prior to the storm. 
  • Have a supply of fresh drinking water on hand. 
  • Make sure your flashlights have fresh batteries. 
  • Keep cell phones and computers fully charged.
  • Fill your vehicles with fuel prior to the storm. 
  • Check your generator is in working order and has the supplies necessary. 
  • Please remain inside during a storm.
