Residents Can Sleep Now That Greenburgh Gas Repairs Are Complete

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Great news for Greenburgh residents on Central Avenue and East and West Hartsdale Avenues, the gas line work is complete by Con Edison, according to Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.

Feiner said that he had received many complaints from residents about the nightly noise during repairs, making it impossible to sleep. 

"Hopefully, those who live on Central Avenue or on East and West Hartsdale Avenues will now be able to get a good night's sleep," he said. "The work had to be done. Gas leaks can be dangerous; explosions elsewhere have resulted in deaths and serious injuries."

But residents might not want to celebrate too soon, as the company still needs to continue removing the plates and backfilling. Once complete, the roadway will be done.
