CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Rockland County Youth Bureau is seeking nominations for the 36th annual Youth Forum and Awards Dinner.

"Through volunteer service, many young people and adults are doing much to improve the lives of their fellow Rockland County residents," said County Executive Ed Day. "Please take the time to nominate deserving individuals doing great things in our schools, neighborhoods, places of worship or through community organizations."

The Joseph A. Myers Service to Youth Award will honor volunteer community service with a $1,000 check. Nominees must be able to corroborate two years of consistent service to at least one Rockland County organization or cause. Two young people will be selected to receive the award.

The Father F. Peter Malet Award recipient will be an adult volunteer selected based on dedication to working with area children, youths and families.

The Youth Forum Business Award will honor a Rockland County business that supports the efforts of schools, nonprofits or government departments.

The Dennis J. Fleming Award will honor someone for long-term commitment and advocacy for children and youth.

The deadline for nominees has been extended to Monday, March 7.

For nomination forms and additional information, contact Marianne McCarney-Haesche, assistant director of the Rockland County Youth Bureau, at 845-638-5166 or mccarnem@co.rockland.ny.us .
