It marks the second time the man has been arrested by the Orangetown PD for stealing from a parked car in the span of just over two weeks.

The arrest came about when officers observed the suspect, identified as Christopher L. Torralbas, entering an unattended vehicle parked on Railroad Avenue in Pearl River and removing items belonging to the owner on Friday, around 8:41 p.m., according to police.

Torralbas, who was taken into custody at the scene, was found to be in possession of several generic alprazolam pills, along with a few generic clonazepam pills, police said.

Torralbas has been charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and petty larceny, all misdemeanors, according to police.

After processing at Orangetown Police Headquarters, Torralbas was arraigned and sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $500 bail, police said.

Torralbas is scheduled to appear in Orangetown Justice Court at a future date, according to police.

In late October, Torralbas was charged in the theft of a wallet from inside a car on Walter Street in Pearl River. For more on that incident, click here.
