Separate Coyote Sightings Reported In Clarkstown

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A pair of separate coyote sightings have been reported, Clarkstown Police said Thursday.

The sightings occurred last week in the area of BOCES in West Nyack.

Police also provided other tips and info:

  • Residents should not put out food in your yard that would attract coyotes.
  • Do not approach coyotes.
  • Coyotes could come out any time of the day or night.
  • Do not leave any unenclosed refuse cleaners.
  • Cats should be kept indoors at all times.
  • Dogs must be kept on direct supervision and restrained on a chain or a leash not exceeding six feet in length while being walked in any public area.
