WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- The state Board of Regents voted recently to grant Rockland Jewish Academy in West Nyack, which serves students from preschool through fifth grade, an absolute charter, according to an article on lohud.com.
The designation means the school successfully showed that it operates a sound educational program, has sufficient enrollment and is financially solvent, lohud.com said.
The Rockland Jewish Academy is the county's only independent school combining Jewish and secular studies, lohud.com said.
The school was granted a permanent charter to operate after demonstrating that it is educationally and financially sound, lohud.com said.
