Tappan Zee Bridge Work Might Be Killing Sturgeon

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A federal agency is taking another look into reports that say the construction of the new Tapen Zee Bridge is killing the sturgeon that swim in the Hudson River, according to a report in LoHud.com.

Lohud reports that the environmental group Riverkeeper has reported more than 120 sturgeon deaths, 46 so far in 2015, since work on the bridge began in 2012.

A spokeswoman with the National Marine Fisheries Service told LoHud that the agency knew about the situation before Riverkeeper raised the issue and was working with the Federal Highway Administration.
