West Nyack Rallies For 9-Year-Old With Diabetes

WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- Chloe Karamitsos recently had a lot of company as she participated in a 5K run/walk to benefit juvenile diabetes research, according to a report in lohud.com.

The 9-year-old from West Nyack has Type 1 diabetes but takes the condition in stride and is confident a cure will be found, lohud reported.

Chloe's mother, Denise Karamitsos, says the staff at her daughter's school, Strawtown Elementary, has been very helpful and supportive in managing Chloe's illness, according to lohud.
