Nicholas Pagliuca, 66, is scheduled to be sentenced in federal court following his arrest shortly before Thanksgiving two years ago and guilty plea to signing up for a child pornography website and downloading hundreds of pornographic images and videos of children.

According to officials, an individual who was later identified as Pagliuca registered for a 30-day subscription to a website that is a popular means for individuals to trade child pornography images and videos in October 2012. Pagliuca later downloaded hundreds of files which depicted prepubescent children engaged in sexual activity with adults or other children.

Tracking the email address Pagliuca used to register with the website, agents with HSI and officers of the New York State Police confirmed Pagliuca's identity and his occupation as a teacher, officials said. Pagliuca resigned from his teaching job shortly after his arrest.

According to a lohud report, Pagliuca attempted to destroy several devices that may have contained child pornography that were overlooked by investigators during a Thanksgiving trip. He also destroyed a DVD with illicit material on it and attempted to hide the evidence, which was later recovered.

Pagliuca pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography on Nov. 8 last year. He has been free on $50,000 bond since his arrest. He is due to be remanded into custody on Friday following his sentencing.
