PIERMONT, N.Y. – Maria C. Monterey, of Piermont, died Friday, June 24. She was 100 years old.
She was born on June 17, 1916, in the Philippines. She came to the U.S. in 1972.
She is survived by her nine children, Rosario, Carolina, Lily, Vicky, Napoleon, Bellafe, Teresita, Joselito and Maria Theresa; 30 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norberto, in 2001.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc., 88 S. Broadway, Nyack.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Piermont. Interment will follow at the Rockland County Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead.
