Wallkill High School Grad Matthew Gillis Dies, 25

Matthew Gillis of Port Jervis died on Saturday, Jan. 20 surrounded by his family at Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey. He was 25.

Matthew graduated from Wallkill High School in 2011. He was the manager at the Quick Chek in Wantage, NJ for several years until he left on disability.

Matthew hobbies are golf, NASCAR, his favorite driver Martin Truex Jr., he loved his Ford truck, enjoyed spending time with his friends especially Dylan, he loved all sports and was a very outdoorsman.

Matt was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Helen Gillis and his maternal grandfather Horace Conklin.

He is survived by his wife, Ashley; parents, George and Linda (nee Conklin) Gillis; and siblings Tabitha and Stefanie Gillis.

He is also survived by his newphew Cody, grandmother of Lillian Conklin; his best friend Dylan; and his dog he called his little girl, Daisy.
