5-Year-Old Struck By Taxi After Getting Off Bus In Orange County

A 5-year-old child has been hospitalized after being hit by a taxi shortly after getting off a school bus in Kiryas Joel, according to the New York State Police.

The child was hit around 12:30 p.m. Friday on Stropkov Court after getting off the school bus, said State Police Spokesman Steven Nevel.

Nevel said investigator were still on the scene and was not sure if the taxi had gone around the stopped bus.

The child, whose gender has not been released, was transported to Westchester Medical Center by ambulance where he is listed in stable condition, Nevel said.
