Clarkstown Police Detective Retires After 36 Years In Law Enforcement

CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Clarkstown Police Department celebrated the career of Detective Frank Romano on Wednesday, March 30, as the veteran officer marked the end of his 36 years in law enforcement.

Romano, who is retiring from the department, began his career with the Rockland County Sheriff's Office in 1980, according to a statement from Clarkstown police.

He joined Clarkstown in 1983 and was assigned to patrol until 1989 when he was promoted to detective, the statement said.

"Please join us in congratulating (Frank) on an outstanding career and wish him all the best in his future endeavors," said a statement on the department's Facebook page. "Thank you Frank and good luck!"
