Man Caught Stealing $300 Worth Of Items From Rockland Store, Police Say

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 41-year-old was arrested at a Blauvelt store after trying to steal $300 worth of merchandise, Orangetown Police said.

The man, identified as David Tibi of the Bronx, secretly placed the merchandise from Restaurant Depot at 100 Corporate Drive in boxes and then left the store without paying for them on Friday, Oct. 13, police said.

Tibi was arrested at the scene and then processed at Orangetown Police headquarters, where he was charged with petit larceny.

He's due back in court Nov. 14.
