Man Killed After Being Hit By SUV In New City

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A pedestrian was killed in New City on Friday night after being hit by an SUV near the intersection of Route 304 and Congers Road.

The name of the victim, identified as a 58-year-old man, has not yet been released.

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. and the road was closed for several hours during an accident investigation. The driver remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, Clarkstown Police said, and anyone who may have information should call the department at 845-639-5800.
