ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - A 60-year-old man was arrested in Rockland County over the weekend after attempting to illegally purchase prescription painkillers from a CVS location in Bardonia.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, police from Clarkstown were dispatched to the CVS in Bardonia when the on-duty pharmacist reported a possible incident of fraud.

According to police, Newark resident Sherman Winston attempted to purchase Oxycodone from CVS, prompting the pharmacist to contact law enforcement. Following a brief investigation, Winston was taken into custody and charged with a felony count of criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Winston was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail. He is due back in court on Wednesday, March 29.
