Members of the Orangetown Police Department responded to a reported robbery and assault shortly before 4 a.m. on Thursday.

Police said that it is alleged that 32-year-old Nyack resident Gregory Dubuisson assaulted and forcibly stole property from his victim, who alleged that Dubuisson punched him in the face, causing swelling and pain before an undisclosed amount of money was taken from him.

After receiving a description of the suspect from the victim, officers were able to track down Dubuisson, who was arrested on felony charges of second-degree assault and robbery.

Dubuisson’s victim was taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment of the injuries suffered during the incident, and Dubuisson was taken to Orangetown Police Headquarters for processing.

He was subsequently arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of bail. Dubuisson is due back in Nyack Justice Court next week to answer the charges.
