ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 22-year-old Nanuet faces car theft charges after being nabbed by Spring Valley police driving a stolen car on May 17, according to Spring Valley Police, who say they later learned he had stolen another vehicle days earlier.
Jesus Curet, 22, was arrested after a Spring Valley officer on routine patrol spotted a black 2001 Nissan Maxima, with Pennsylvania license plates, that had been reported stolen, said Detective Reginald Anderson.
The officer called for assistance from the Clarkstown Police Department, who stopped the car on New Clarkstown Road at Overlook Boulevard, Anderson said.
Curet was arrested and brought to the Spring Valley Police Department for questioning. During the investigation officers learned that Curet had stolen another car on May 15, Anderson said.
He was charged with felony counts of grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and larceny, Anderson said.
Curet is being held without bail at the Rockland County Jail in New City pending a court appearance.
