NEW CITY, N.Y. – New City’s Fire Engine Company No. 1 has a brand new member.
Harrison Klein, who completed a 120-hour firefighter’s course, graduated in ceremonies held at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
The teen completed the rigorous training course while attending school and fulfilling his duties in the department, according to fire officials.
Rockland County is the only county in New York state to still have “100 percent” all-volunteer fire departments, said John Latanzio, second assistant chief at Engine No. 1.
