CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- A 31-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop in Nanuet, Rockland Sheriff Louis Falco announced Thursday.
Sheriff’s deputies say they saw Sylpha Alexandre of Nyack driving in an erratic manner and pulled him over.
Alexandre was taken to police headquarters where he refused to take a “chemical test,” Falco said.
The sheriff said Alexandre’s license had been suspended after a previous conviction for driving while impaired.
Alexandre was arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County Correctional Facility on $1,000 bail.
He is to appear in court on Friday, Aug. 19, police said.
