Orange County Man Nabbed For Violating Order Of Protection

An Orange County man is facing a contempt charge after allegedly violating an Order of Protection in the Hudson Valley over the weekend, police said.

New York State Police troopers received a complaint of an Order of Protection violation from a victim in Pleasant Valley, who reported that Florida, N.Y. resident Nicholas Skelly, 28 had been in violation of a duly served Order of Protection.

State Police arrested Skelly on March 9 and charged him with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Following arraignment, Skelly was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is due to appear in the Town of Pleasant Valley Court on March 15 to answer the charge.
