The Ramapo Police Department announced over the weekend that officers made their 118th arrest for driving while intoxicated this year after busting a Ridgewood, N.J. resident who was drinking and driving in the village.

Police said that they stopped the 24-year-old - whose name was not released - on Sterling Mine Road on Saturday night after patrol officers stopped him for a speeding violation. During the subsequent stop, it was determined that the man was intoxicated.

Officers arrested the man and charged him with driving while intoxicated. He was also cited for speeding. He was processed, arraigned and released on his own recognizance. Police said he is due back in Sloatsburg Court later this month to answer the charges.
