At approximately 2:06 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, a Gregg Court resident alerted the Orangetown Police Department of a man that had reportedly entered a parked unoccupied vehicle and exited with several high-end items.

Police were dispatched to the scene, where they found 20-year-old Tappan resident Connor Phelan in the area of the alleged theft while still in possession of the stolen items, which included a Samsung laptop, Panasonic camera and Swiss army knife. The total value of the stolen goods was more than $2,000.

Phelan was arrested and charged with felony counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. He was also cited for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was arraigned before Judge Patrick Loftus and is due back in Orangetown Justice Court later this year.
