According to the DA, a grand jury has indicted 16-year-old suspect Jiwan Coleman on charges of second-degree murder and first-degree robbery.

The certification was filed with Spring Valley Justice Court.

Coleman originally had been charged with attempted murder in the June 26 attack, but after 18-year-old Ruben Suchite Torres died Saturday, the charges were amended, according to a report by lohud.com.

Torres was found unconscious on North Myrtle Avenue and taken to Westchester Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police told lohud.com that they believe the incident began as a robbery and that a rock may have been used to hit Torres on the head and face.

A friend and former co-worker has set up a GoFundMe account to help raise money so the family can return Torres’ body to Guatemala, where his mother, Victoria Torres, and brothers still live.

So far the fund has surpassed its initial goal of $5,000 and, as of Wednesday, had raised $8,570.

The friend, Dany Marroquin, 28, praised Torres as a responsible kid and a hard worker who had to overcome a lot of hardships.

Torres lived in a studio apartment with his father, Mario Suchite Garcia, and another sibling, the lohud.com story said.
