ROCKLAND COUNTY N.Y. -- Route 34 in Nanuet has reopened following a fire that heavily damaged a garbage truck around 8 a.m. Wednesday, said Nanuet Battalion Chief Nicholas Pata.
Pata said a cause for the fire that engulfed the truck in flames has not been determined.
No was injured during the event, and firefighters were able to douse the flames and reopen the busy roadway within an hour, he added.
