Patrol officers from the Ramapo Police Department stopped a 32-year-old Spring Valley resident late on Friday, Aug. 19 for a vehicle lighting violation.
During the stop, police said that it was determined that the driver had an active bench warrant in both the Town of Ramapo and the Town of Haverstraw. He was also driving with eight suspensions on his license.
After being arrested, police reported that the driver was found to be in possession of cocaine, leading to a felony charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance. The man - whose name was not immediately available - was arraigned in Town of Ramapo Court on Saturday, Aug. 20.
