WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- Dylan Lentini, accused of murdering his roommate following an alleged sexual assault, was found guility of second-degree murder on Friday by a Rockland County jury, according to lohud.com.
Lentini, 19, who rented a room from Michael Wimbert in West Nyack, a retired music teacher, after seeing a Craigslist ad for a gay roommate, was accused of stabbing him multiple times, according to lohud.com.
When arrested in December, Lentini told police he stabbed Wimbert, 66, after he made sexual advances. Clarkstown police said the former homeless man had been living at 68 Demarest Ave. in West Nyack for several days when the attempted rape took place.
The teen had been living in a homeless shelter in Mahattan before moving in with Wimbert. He claimed the attack occurred on the second night the two lived together. Lentini was accused of stabbing the man almost three dozen times with a large kitchen knife, added, lohud.com.
