Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest Of Drunk Driving Suspect In Nyack

NYACK, N.Y. — A Valley Cottage man stopped for a traffic violation in Nyack was arrested on a drunk driving charge on Friday night in Nyack, according to Orangetown Police.

When police stopped Jonathan Schupack, 32, at 10:07 p.m. for a traffic violation, he had an odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, glassy eyes, and slurred speech, they said.

He failed numerous field sobriety tests and was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, according to police.

Schupack was taken to the Orangetown Police headquarters where he failed a breath test, said police.

Schupack was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, and released on $100 bail, the report says.

He is due in Nyack Justice Court Oct. 4, according to police.
