The unidentified 58-year-old woman was arrested around 2:40 a.m., Thursday, after an officer conducting a check of the parking lot observed an occupied vehicle. As he went to investigate, the woman driving the vehicle pulled up next to him to ask a question, police said.

While the officer was talking with the woman he noticed a strong smell of alcohol, along with slurred speech, police said.

Upon further investigation, she was arrested for DWI and processed and released.

Ramapo police denied a Freedom of Information Law request from Daily Voice to provide the woman's name. Daily Voice has issued a new request with the Town of Ramapo.
