NEW CITY, N.Y. -- State Sen. David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester), chairman of the Senate Committee on Social Services, has issued a statement on Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s recent executive action to provide asistance to the homeless as the winter turns colder.
"As temperatures continue to plummet and snow blankets our state, the tens of thousands of homeless New Yorkers and their families must be indoors and safe from the elements this winter.
“The executive order signed by Gov. Cuomo today is exactly what we need to make sure that services are coordinated and that the state is stepping in to fill in gaps in services. I applaud the governor for taking this action and look forward to working with him, my partners in government and advocates throughout the state to ensure no one falls through the cracks."
