Presidential front-runners Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump picked up more delegates on Tuesday, with early wins predicted in some of the five states holding primaries.

The polls closed in all five states at 8 p.m.

Clinton, a Democrat, was declared the winner by a significant amount by MSNBC in Maryland, with 95 delegates at stake. MSNBC did not make predictions yet in these Democratic primaries:

  • Connecticut, with 55 delegates
  • Delaware, with 21 delegates
  • Rhode Island, with 24 delegates
  • Pennsylvania, with 189 delegates

The Democratic winner needs 2,383 delegates to clinch the nomination. Clinton started Tuesday with 1,946, and U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont with 1,192.

MSNBC declared Trump as the big winner in Connecticut, with 28 delegates; Maryland, with 38 delegates; and Pennsylvania with 17 delegates. The following Republican primaries were not called by MSNBC:

  • Delaware, with 16 delegates
  • Rhode Island, with 19 delegates
The Republican winner needs 1,237 delegates to secure the nomination. Before Tuesday's voting, Trump had 845 delegates, U.S. Ted Cruz of Texas had 559 and Ohio Gov. John Kasich had 148.
