The trial is now set to begin April 17 and may take up to five weeks, according to the lohud.com report. Defense lawyers had pleaded for more time to study evidence in the case -- which includes over 1.5 million pages of documents.
St. Lawrence is Rampao's supervisor of the last 16 years. He also was chairman of the local economic development agency, and Troodler was its executive director, lohud.com reported. The charges relate to fudging documents related to the town's finances, in order to push through bond funding for a baseball stadium.
St. Lawrence was arrested this past April, as the Daily Voice reported.
The town's auditor, PKF O'Connor Davies, recently settled a case with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for half a million dollars, according to lohud.com.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day called for severing ties with the firm last week, as the Daily Voice reported. According to lohud.com, the firm has resigned from its county contracts -- but it still has contracts with two school districts, East Ramapo and Clarkstown.
