The Albany-based firm has been asked to propose to the town just how it would deal with Ramapo’s projects, according to lohud.com, which reported that Laberge could end up responsible for reviewing the fees charged for town projects, which have been the same since 1995.

The measure comes as Chief Building Inspector Anthony Mallia stands accused of providing contractors with falsified and severely undercharged building permits. Mallia faces 100 felony charges for his alleged wrongdoing.

According to lohud.com, the town’s CSEA local president said the union will take action against the town for “outsourcing union work,” should Ramapo opt to work with Laberge.
