Pope Francis told reporters Thursday that anyone who wants to build a wall on the border between U.S. and Mexico is not a Christian after reporters asked what he thought about Trump’s immigration views.

In response, Trump, who owns an estate in Bedford, released a statement, saying “If and when the Vatican is attacked by ISIS, which as everyone knows is ISIS’s ultimate trophy, I can promise you that the Pope would have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been President because this would not have happened."

However, the presidential hopeful, who also owns golf clubs in Hopewell Junction and Briarcliff Manor, has found some success with Christian conservatives so far during his campaign.
