Phil Murphy's Win Marks New Era Of Democratic Control In New Jersey

Former Wall Street executive-turned diplomat Phil Murphy (D) beat Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno (R) in Tuesday's New Jersey gubernatorial election.

CNN called the win for Murphy based on exit polling.

Murphy, 60, will be sworn in on Jan. 16, and Democrats will control the governor's office and state Legislature for the first time since 2009, when Jon Corzine lost to Chris Christie.
